Data Centre & Server Decommissioning Switzerland

Decommission your data centre and sell servers

A data centre decommissioning depends on a clear process: Ecobro assesses reusable hardware, defines the project scope and coordinates the next steps for a fully traceable IT clearance.

Reusable hardware can still be worth money. Request a personal offer without obligation. For larger quantities we prepare an individual offer for the whole lot based on model, quantity and condition.

Ecobro Schweiz

IT asset recovery for data centres

We support companies, hosting providers and IT managers with the structured assessment of server room and data centre inventories. Mixed stock, older systems and hardware with residual value can all be recorded together. Whether shipping, handover or collection makes the most sense is something we clarify based on location, scope and timeline.

What we assess during a data centre decommissioning

  • Rack and tower servers from HPE, Dell, Cisco and Lenovo
  • Storage systems, hard drives, SSDs and spare parts
  • Switches, network hardware, racks and accessories
  • Mixed IT stock, returns and faulty devices

What matters for the assessment

The more precise the project details, the easier it is to separate reusable hardware, logistics and open questions from one another.

Inventory and photos

An Excel or CSV list with model, quantity, configuration and condition is ideal. Photos of racks, type labels and storage areas help with the initial assessment.

Location and accessibility

Please tell us the location, floor, lift or loading ramp situation, packing options and your preferred time frame. This is especially important for heavy racks and mixed stock.

Data and responsibilities

Data handling, sign-offs and any documentation are discussed in advance and included only when agreed.

Not just servers

UPS units, cooling, building services and non-reusable disposal are not automatically included in the buyback. In the initial conversation we define what should be assessed, coordinated or organised separately.

For companies with a plannable IT clearance

Project-focused

A single point of contact and a structured inventory instead of scattered, unconnected enquiries.

Reuse first

Working systems are assessed by model and condition; remaining items can be recorded separately.

Data in mind

Storage media are handled according to the agreed process before being passed on. We clarify the details in advance.

Frequently asked questions about data centre decommissioning

Does Ecobro handle the complete server dismantling?

That depends on the project scope and location. We first review the stock, access, time frame and preferred logistics, then clarify whether shipping, collection or a coordinated handover makes sense. There is no automatic commitment to dismantling.

Does Ecobro also buy older or faulty servers?

Yes, older, mixed or faulty systems can still have residual value. The assessment is based on model, condition, quantity and reuse potential.

What does Ecobro need for a data centre project?

An inventory list, photos, the number of racks, server and storage models, condition, location, accessibility and the preferred schedule are all helpful. An initial enquiry is also possible with a short project description.

How is data on the storage media handled?

This is clarified on a project basis before handover. Please let us know your internal requirements so the appropriate process can be discussed.

What happens to hardware with no resale value?

Hardware with no economic residual value is not simply promised as a buyback. We discuss the distinction between reusable components, return and any disposal that may need to be organised separately.
